Structure

Board of Directors

Members of the Board of Directors are physicians who represent a broad range of medical specialities. Our Board members demonstrate a commitment to:

  • Ongoing education and professional development of specialist physicians, primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and/or allied healthcare professionals
  • Use of evidence-based medicine to guide diagnoses and treatment decisions
  • Finding solutions to closing knowledge and care gaps to ultimately improve patient outcomes

Board members are elected by the membership of the ICPDHM at large during the organization’s Annual General Meeting.

Roles and responsibilities of the Board of Directors

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the ICPDHM so that it meets the needs of the organization’s members
  • Support and uphold ethical, legal, and regulatory standards that underlie all activities undertaken by the ICPDHM and in its relationships with sponsors
  • Participate in the Annual General Meeting
  • Vote on matters of strategic direction put forward at Board meetings and at the Annual General Meeting
  • Offer medical expertise as a member of Scientific Planning Committees on relevant topics (optional)

Members

Eligible members include individual licensed physicians.


Roles and responsibilities of members

  • Participate in the ICPDHM Annual General Meeting
    • Vote on the strategic direction of the ICPDHM
    • Vote for members of the Board of Directors
  • Contribute to research activities, including implementation science, quality improvement, and practice assessment initiatives
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications, with authorship recognition
  • Present data from ICPDHM research activities at national and international professional conferences and meetings and through other educational platforms
